§ 25-501. Service applications.

  • All persons desiring to be furnished steam heat by the city shall first make application in writing to the public utilities division describing the premises to be served, estimating the amount of heat needed to serve such premises, and agreeing to pay expenses involved in connection with the installation of mains, piping, meters, and other necessary equipment in such amounts as shall be determined by the public utilities commission. The public utilities commission shall act on each application. No connection shall be made with mains or city steam heating equipment until the public utilities commission has approved such application. No person or consumer shall make any additions or changes in presently existing equipment without first reporting the proposed changes or additions to the public utilities division and making a written application for a permit to change or enlarge such equipment. All proposed changes shall be approved by the public utilities commission before any permit or consent shall be issued for such changes. The public utilities commission reserves the right to grant or deny any application for any service, changes or additions.
