§ 4-28. Quarantine.

  • Any dog or cat which bites a person shall be quarantined for such time as may be directed by the health officer. During quarantine the dog or cat shall be securely confined and kept from contact with any other animal. At the discretion of the health officer, the quarantine may be on the premises of the owner; however, if the health officer requires other confinement, the owner shall surrender the animal for quarantine period to an animal shelter or veterinary hospital to be paid for at the owner's expense.
