§ 20-29. Functions.

  • The planning commission shall:

    (1)

    Serve as an advisory body to city council in matters regarding the issuance of conditional use permits, amendments to the zoning ordinance and the zoning map, and the platting and subdivision of land.

    (2)

    Serve as an advisory body to the city council in matters of directing the future physical development and redevelopment of the city. The commission shall, upon request of the city council, make studies, investigations regarding matters affecting community development, zoning, platting and public improvements.

    (3)

    Periodically review and revise the comprehensive plan, and make recommendations to the city council relating thereto.

    (4)

    Recommend to the city council proposed regulations regarding zoning, use of land and structures, placement of structures on properties and other regulations related to public health, welfare, safety and convenience.

    (5)

    Perform those duties imposed by Minnesota Statutes chapter 562, as amended from time to time.
